HBI Announces Plan to Certify all Outreach Coordinators in Nurturing Parenting by The End of the Year!

As of the end of February, Home Base Inc. has certified 50 professional staff in the highly acclaimed Nurturing Parenting intervention system and plan to have all staff working in the SNS and Behavioral Health programs certified by the end of the year. To kick off this initiative seasoned staff have been selected from all regional offices and will have been trained by Jen Moss, MA, MFT from the Family Nurturing Center of the Pacific Northwest by February 29th.

The Nurturing Parenting Programs are a family-centered trauma-informed initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices.

The long-term goals are to prevent recidivism in families receiving social services, lower the rate of multi-parent teenage pregnancies, reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse, and stop the intergenerational cycle of child abuse by teaching positive parenting behaviors. The Nurturing Parenting Program® for School Age Children was recognized by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), and Substance Abuse, Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and other government and state agencies as an evidence-based program; the only parenting program for the treatment of child abuse and neglect.

Home Base Inc. is preparing its staff and is committing extraordinary resources to this project to ensure that, as the state system moves toward a more robust preventive intervention model, it's staff are the best trained and skilled at delivering parenting, in-home SNS services and CSED services across the state. More Information will be provided on our website soon.
